FAQ – Cat Sitting

Q: What is your service area?

A: We service the greater Seattle area for dog walking, cat sitting and puppy training. This includes the following neighborhoods: Downtown, Pioneer Square, Belltown, Capitol Hill, First Hill, International District, Lake Union, Ballard, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Greenwood, Fremont, Wallingford, Maple Leaf, South Park, Columbia City, Rainier Beach, West Seattle.

Q: Do you have an available dog walker or cat specialist?

A: Probably! Send us the details and we will let you know if we have an appropriate caregiver on staff with room on their schedule.

Q: Can you do two visits per day?

A: Yes, we often do two visits per day, in the morning and evening.

Q: Can you administer medication to my cat?

A: Probably! If you can, we probably can. Send us the details and we will let you know if we have an appropriate caregiver with medication experience on staff with room on their schedule. We do prefer less invasive techniques when possible (pill pockets and food administration), if your kitty is hard to handle, we can schedule a test visit or ramp up visits to condition your cat to being medicated by your caregiver.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yup! We are fully insured, licensed and bonded, and our employees are covered under our insurance.

Q: Can I speak to someone on the phone before booking?

A: Yes! Our office hours are roughly 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The best way to contact us is through the contact form (new clients) or email schedule@little-furry-things.com, (current clients).

Q: What about keys?

A: We like to keep two copies of a key on file for our regular clients, please have them ready at the initial consultation to avoid extra trips.

Q: I can’t get two copies? Now what?

A: We can deal with one copy and a SOLID back up plan, meaning someone who can give us access to your pets to care for them. This may be a landlord, friend, family, neighbor who has a back up key. They must be in town while you are traveling and available to help in an emergency.

Q: Do you sit for aggressive pets?

A: If your animal has a previous bite history we may not be able to service your family for dog walks or cat visits, or may recommend training walks to start. Some animals may be fearful or cautious, we do have caregivers who can deal with this and your visit will be assigned carefully. If needed, we can do a test visit before your departure to make sure that we can handle your animal safely.

Q: What do I need to provide for my caregiver?

A: Any supplies we may need to adequately care for your pet including treats, toys, litter disposal bags, cleaning supplies, vacuums or brooms, and a crate for emergencies. Cats should be wearing a pet id tag and/or microchip.

Q: Does my pet need to be up to date on their vaccinations?

A: That is preferred, but we do not ask for copies unless you are visiting with another clients pets.
